THE BRÉBEUF HYMNAL is being produced by the JP2 Institute, which also produced the Jogues Lectionary. We have reached an agreement with a publisher. We will accept hymn suggestions from anyone who emails them to us. I have been named primary editor. Final decisions will be made by the HYMN COMMITTEE. The committee is diverse: men & women; professional musicians & amateurs; old & young; and so forth. All, however, are faithful Catholics. If you have suggestions about hymns, please email them. Make sure to include the words “hymn suggestions” in the subject line. As time goes on, much will be said about this project and its goals. For the moment, I will conclude by making clear one important thing: This hymnal is not competing with any other American hymnal. Ours is unlike any other American hymnal, and has a different set of goals. It’s being created because we feel there’s a tremendous need for such a book. Our concern—our vocation—is to contribute something pleasing to God. Moreover, we desire to make Catholics aware of the powerful example of St. Jean de Brébeuf.
